Got an underraduate degree in accounting at the end of 2002. Had an internship as an internal auditor during college which I enjoyed. Worked in a small accounting firm for 21 months after graduation. Learned I hated doing taxes (was OK with the external audit work, though.) I've been working in internal audit for a large company since April of last year. I got my CPA in January of this year. I just realized I don't like audit.
Now what? My whole resume is built to audit, getting a different job could be difficult.
Unfortunately, all accounting-related career guidance I can recall said "audit!" and that was it.
