Learning to do Payroll?

Anyone know of any courses on how to do Payroll?



Pls be a bit more specific..how to use a computerised package? income tax? local employment laws?

You mean like, someone to teach you to take the hours and multiply them by the individual hourly rate, then apply that gross wage to the withholding tables? That's the bare bones basics. If you need help getting that far, you're in real trouble.

Beyond that, try a local tech school or university that may offer a continuing ed class on the topic, that more than likely goes into the various rules about the payment of the taxes, filing reports, and other specific withholding issues, like 401k, pre-tax medical, etc.

Also for a more in-depth class, see if your state society of CPA's offers classes on payroll (I'm sure someone does).

i think he/she meant help doing payroll tax returns.

state societies of CPA's won't talk to someone who's not a CPA, much less take their money for a training class.

are six small training sessions on how to do payroll on a particular software. The important thing to you is the processes that are taught in the training sessions, not the environment that it is taught in.
