How do I track payroll without Quickbooks payroll service?

May 15, 2006 3 Replies

I have one understanding employee, namely myself, and I pay myself using the tables from revenue canada. I do not know how to track this in quickbooks.

What would be the to best way to track this in QB pro 2006?

Do I set "Myself" and "CCRA payroll" up as vendors, and just treat it like any other bill?

Does anyone do something like this? The payroll service looks nice but I am an owner operator and I just want to pay myself without paying Intuit if possible

In the USA versions there is an explanation in the help file, on how to set up payroll manually. I do not know if the information exists in the Canadian version. For doing payroll manually, you must make the appropriate calculations for each check (more complex if your hours change each week). US versions also do not support printing tax forms if you are not a payroll subscriber.

In help search under "payroll -canceling payroll subscription-what features can I use without a subscription." This goes through a detail description of how to manage payroll without a subscription.

Perfect. Thank you lots.
