Office Leasing Questions

This may be a little off topic but we have been looking for new office space for our firm. We had a leasing agent show us several places and told us the lease price per sqft for each one. We went back to the office, talked it over and sent an email to the leasing agent to let him know that we were interested in one in particular and that we would have our realtor contact him to get everything started. He replied to the email stating the he would have to reprice the rent since we were using a realtor as they did not include commission in the price. When I mentioned that the sqft price he quoted us was the same as was on the MLS listeng our realtor gave us he said that amount never includes commissions on a commercial lease. Is that normal?

That probably varies with locations of the country, but you should pay your realtor out of your own pocket based on whatever agreement you strike in the beginning. You shouldn't have to pay for it month after month for many years. The lease rate they set should include their expenses, not yours.
