Pah! If you'd gone to the local post office, as I did last week, you'd have gotten it there and then.

I don't think you need a cat licence if it's for home/personal use only...

Gather Ye Rosebuds whilst Ye may.

They closed our local post office in the middle of last year.

That left us without even a local postbox.

Our office leases a Pitney Powes postage meter. If we don't have a local post office we have to use a special envelope in the postbox (We didn't have a local postbox either) this costs extra. It's cheaper to buy stamps and stick them on. This is despite having being already commited to paying £600/year in lease for the machine, + extra for servicing, which is not actually required anymore 'cos it's digital.

The servicing requirement came from the days of whirry-whirry mechanical postage meters. But they still take the money.

The lease is for a 5 year contract. :-((

As soon as the contract is over with we are back to stamps. :-))

Or sooner, maybe I'll just kick P.B. into touch for the fun of it !
