Can someone recommend a book or other publication that explains were certain company expenses belong on a company's income statement or balance sheet? For example, do call center charges belong in cost of sales or as a period cost for a Internet company that takes orders over their web site and over their toll-free telephone number. I figure there must be a publication for companies and/or auditors which outlines this. Thanks!
