I'm looking for accounting software that will let me do invoicing and when I enter an item it will give me the last price charged for that item.
(i.e. when I enter item xxxxx the software would tell me the last pirce charged for that item was $x.xx. )

Most basic accounting programs will allow you to set prices (including various discount schemes), and recall the last set price on the next order. I don't think that they will recall the last invoice if you changed the price from the set price. Perhaps you can be more specific about whether a program you have been using isn't permitting this.
What is a set price? You seem to be saying it is a price they may not use. If they dont record the quotes there's no accounting software that will help you. If they forget they should only have to look it up.
Your organisation seems to be in a mess. Wait until you get organised before getting any new accounting software.
