need help reading backup

I need some help identifying some file formats. I have a backup from a system that went down. I want to restore the backup data but don't have a system to do it on. I want to port the data to windows and import it into a readable format in Excel or Access for accounting purposes. The data came from a linux system running sql-ledger and postgres.

Here are the file names from the backup:

BACKUP.@@@ GL44BGT7.DNW GL44BGT7.KNW GL44DPT7.DNW GL44DPT7.KNW GL44MST7.DNW GL44MST7.KNW GL44RPT7.DNW GL44RPT7.KNW GL44TRN7.DNW GL44TRN7.KNW GLOPTS.DNW GLOPTS.KNW

The files are partially 50% readable with a text editor but the other

50% is garbled.

I need a way to import the data to a Windows Machine.

Thanks in advance.

Those are files from the old Peachtree for DOS program. They are not necessarily backup files, and they cannot be read or converted into a CSV or other format. They can only be read through the Peachtree for DOS program.

Since we don't have the old system anymore would you know how I can read the files and put them into a fully readable text file or excel file?

Without the original program, as far as I know that is not possible.
