Adjusting invenmtory quantities

Can this be done in HQ item properties? If so, does the corrected info get to the store by the 401 worksheet or does something else have to be done? Thanks for any input

On hand quantity is really store data. You can run a worksheet to adjust item quantities for a store ( 3xx - I forget the exact worksheet type), but normal proceedure is to run a Physical Inventory at the STORE, then request a 501 for that store, and finally use Inventory task 190 at HQ to reconcile the Store and HQ quantities. In theory, the store has the most correct data for local quantity...

Glenn and John G,

According to Todd last week on the private ng, there is no longer a need to run a 501 and 190 as he claims the 401 takes care of it.

Thanks Glen, I understand what you are saying and that is the way we normally do it. But one of our store managers accessed HQ checked store quantities in HQ and noticed that the Quantity box was white an appeared to accept manual changes in HQ. She asked if the program allowed this in HQ which is why I posted. I agree the best source is the store but at the same time I didn't know why the RMS program seemed to allow this and why the box wasn't grayed out.
