Best Practice fro order entry?

I would like to hear what others are doing concerning entering orders into RMS from the internet. We do not have a direct link set up yet...in a few months.

We are going online to Amazon.com and eBay and our web cart to collect our orders....we also receive emails--but that is unreliable.

---orders come in---

  1. Enter quote on any computer.

  1. Run some report? What report shows open quotes? Pull product.

  2. Fulfill orders.... Packing slip in the box? Is there a packing slip? or recall the quote by the quote number, then convert the quote to a closed invoice to go into the box?

  1. SHIP. I just bought ShipRush so it will be easy to make UPS labels right from RMS. (Come on guys--I need the USPS version!)

  2. Run Z-report from ship computer at end of day since that is where the quotes were converted to invoices?

---and YES, I paid the $200+ bucks and sat through the entire crappy MS RMS course.--

Thanks!

Which web cart are you running? The New West Web Integrator may be a viable option for you.

I am not automating right now. We are starting with manual entry and then moving to automation later. I just want to know how others are manually entering in orders from Phone, catalog, mail, email, etc.
