Branch Transfers

in RMS-speak, that is an inter store transfer. There are options in HQ that determine if matching transfers are automatically sent to the receiving store. Once those options are selected: Store 1 creates a transfer OUT Select "Inter Store" as the transfer type select the receiving store (Store 2) save the transfer

When store 1 next processes a 401 worksheet, the transfer will be sent to HQ HQ will create a matching transfer IN for the receiving store (Store 2) When Store 2 next processes a 401, the transfer IN will be created and will be ready to be received. If any items on the transfer do not exist at store 2 (because they were not sent to the store via a 250), you will get an error on the 401 and the transfer in will not be created correctly.

Store 1 and store 2 now have matching transfer orders, Store 1 can issue the transfer and Store 2 can receive it.

In HQ, use the Interstore transfer report to view the tranfers and their status.

When the transfer is created in Store 1 (assuming the option in HQ is set to automatic) is the stock immediately removed from Store 1's stock figure and vice versa when it is recieved in Store 2.

No, each store must process the transfer, it is not automatically issued & received. It's just like a PO, no quantity changes are made until you Commit - that works on both issuing and on receiving.

Yes, there is a period where inventory is in transit and is not shown at either store. the report is not going to show you this explicitly, but you can see the issued & received status, so if a transfer has been issued but not yet received, you know it is in transit.
