Will it be possible with the current version of RMS to provide business Intelligence for stores having more than 40,000 SKUs. Business Intelligence in terms of What is the market trend after assessing sales at variuos stores, slow-fast moving items. When promos can put in etc. In the era we are working is the era of Analysis. Does Microsoft RMS supports SQL 2005 for its backoffice which provides data mining.

RMS is not yet officially supported on SQL Server 2005. There is an OLAP kit available from MS, but unless it has been updated, it's a little out of date - built for an old version of Excel if I recall correctly. There are other OLAP and BI add-ins available from other partners, and you can always roll your own using various techniques. The data itself does support the type of analysis you are asking for...

Glenn is absolutely right SQL 2005 has not offially been approved for RMS Store and or HQ. We have done some OLAP cubes using the standard RMS [requires full SQL version]. If you want to know more contact me.
