Store Ops Mgr Error - "Current Database is of version 2.01"...

I have started getting an error message on one of my back office PC's when trying to run RMS Store Operations Manager program.

"The current database is of version 2.01, while this application requires version 2.00. Please run Store Operations - Administrator to correct this problem."

My SQL database file is on another machine. I can hit it using SQL Server Management Console express with no problems. I can NOT hit that remote data with my RMS Store Ops Manager program.

Inside RMS Store Ops Admin, I can run adhoc Query and hit the selected database.

I tried to "upgrade" database inside Store Ops Admin... and it said that I was already up to date and at level 2.01.

Can you advise me on what steps will correct my problem(s)?

Thanks, D.

Hey Matt:

Thanks for the help. Please pardon my ignorance in this matter, but what is the SP2? Is that on the RMS system?

Don - SP2 refers to Service Pack 2 for RMS. This software upgrade updates the applications to read a database version 2.01. Think of the original database as being 2.00. When you applied SP2, you need to go into Store Operations Administrator in the computer that acts as the database server and select database - upgrade. This upgrades the db to "2.01" and allows the SP2 RMS application to run it.

My host PC (with DB onboard) says that is it running version 2.0.0116. On that Host PC, when I try to upgrade the DB, RMS says current vers 2.01. "Database is up to date!".

On the PC having problems running Store Ops Mgr, I can connect to the host PC's db inside Store Ops Admin. When I try to Upgrade the DB... it gives the identical error message...

...RMS says current vers 2.01. "Database is up to date!".

Can you please help me understand more clearly what I need to do? The remote Store Ops Mgr will not connect.

Hi, There is no problem with the database but the remote computer RMS version. You have to install RMS SP2 (Retail2.0-KB949666.EXE) on the remote computer. SO Administrator Help - About... shows the version installed on the computer, I think that there is a difference.
