RMS version 1.2 Database not connecting on register 2

I have a RMS system using version 1.2 that I purchased used. I have been successful in setting up the datebase and getting my date imported from my old system. The system has a total of 3 computers, 2 for registers and then a file server. I have POS1/register 1 computer working fine. My problem is with Register 2. I can access the administration program on register 2 computer and assign the database. I can also use manager and see my list of items in the database. My problem comes when I try to launch store operations. There is a delay and then I get an error message that says "unable to connect to the database". When I know that I have been able to connect to the database in the other 2 parts of the RMS system. What should I look at? I am thinking that something is corrupt that store operations uses to know where the database is located.

Thank you

Since RMS is licensed instead of purchased, the only way to buy it "used" is to acquire a company that already uses the product, in which case hopefully you would also integrate whatever processes and people who have had made it work before.

There are so many reasons not to use V1.2, most importantly that it is not PCI compliant, and can no longer be used in conjunction with any card payment system.

If you have paid some other company for disks and dongles without getting current Microsoft licenses, product upgrades, and support, then you have really paid for nothing, and should consult a legitimate vendor.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I hate seeing people get taken advantage of by paying money for something the seller knows is worthless, or companies making their employees coble together a solution without backing them with adequate resources.

I agree, There is no way to buy RMS used since the previous owner didn't "own" it in the first place. Bite the bullet and contact a legitimate reseller to buy a license. This is the only way you will get any real support. Whoever "sold" you the software and dongle took advantage of you and ripped you off. If you know them personally demand your money back.
