Check the database with Store Op. Administrator.. do you are sure that the database is correct now?

What error message are you getting?

Because what you are describing does not make sense, there must be something you are missing telling us.

If you replaced the hard drive and reloaded your operating system and named the PC the same as it was before the crash and restored your database, everything should have worked as before the crash without even needing to change any configuration on the other PC's.

Explain what you did when the hard drive crashed.

I agree it does not make sense. Steps taken

  1. Reloaded os 2. named computer the same. 3.Add msde - THe POS systems all worked / Store > What error message are you getting?

The password doesn't have to be blank.

If you did not have a password before, did you open up Store Operations Administrator on each of the workstations and enter the password in?

Check all the settings in Store Operations Administrator, Configuration, Database on each workstation against the one in the 2nd office and ensure they are the same.

This is an odd problem you are having. In my experiences with RMS, if Manager cannot connect to the database, then neither will POS. and vise versa. I would suggest fully reinstalling Store Operations.

you can try making sure there are not any firewalls blocking your applications. also make sure that the sqlservr.exe is not being blocked. this file is located in the 'binn' folder somewhere very similar to this... C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe
