Decide which machine will host your database, take note of the computer name / ip address Make sure that the database services are started
Make sure your SQL 2008 has an account/login that can be used by RMS application
- it should have privileges to create table / backup database. If you dont know about any useraccount, just use "sa" user account built infrom SQL
2008, its the super user.
Follow RMS installation Instruction - you will have 3 applications installed when it ends a) RMS Store Operations-POS b) RMS Store Operations-Administrator c) RMS Store Operations-Manager
Open the Store Operation Administrator, choose connect
Enter the detail : choose the database server name / fill it
Choose SQL Server Authentication
The database name at this point is irrelevant, but if you hit any problem choose "master"
Click OK
Choose Database from menu then choose Create
Follow the instruction and select a new database name for you to create
You will be prompted to populate the database from backup file
If it is a new database choose rmsdb.bak from /DBFiles folder
If you want to play around with sample database choose rmssample.bck from /DBFiles folder
Click next until its done
Choose Database menu, click "Select" choose the database then "OK"
I have that portion all setup I have defined the registers the problem is the database connection keeps needing to be restarted at the registers and the sales reps information is not prorogating to the registers
do i have to set the register number at each register
If you have database connection problem the Store operations POS and manager will not start I think you cannot have duplicate register number if you are using only 1 database
If your database connection needs to be restarted goto Control panel > Admin Tool > Services Choose the SQL Server service > Under general tab choose startup type automatic Under the Recovery type choose Restart service
