MS SQL2005 Workgrouup Edition on SBS 2003

Are there any draw backs using MS SQL 2005 Workgroup Edition on a Windows Small Business Server 2003?

Do I need a device CAL for each RMS POS station just to connect to the RMS DB?

Alex,

If you wait for SBS 2003 R2 Premium Edition, that's exactly what you will get. It should be available soon, so they tell us.

If you purchase a new server now with SBS 2003 installed on it, you will get a copy after it ships for a shipping charge only.

If you buy SBS 2003 at retail or the VL version, you'll have to pay for it. ($$$)

Your SBS CAL is all that's required. If you purchase SQL 2005 WE standalone, then yes, you need a CAL for every device or user.
