Calulated fields in reports

Jun 27, 2006 4 Replies

Hi,

Is it possible to display a field as a percentage of the column total. I am trying to create a simple report that shows Department, Sales and % of Total Sales that I can filter by date, i.e.

Between 01/06/2006 and 30/06/2006

--------------- Dept1, $50, 62.50% Dept2, $10, 12.50% Dept3, $20, 25.00%

I can't precalculate the values because they can change depending on the date filter. I pretty new to modifying reports in RMS so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortuantely that is not possible with the RMS quick reports.

Please take a look at our reporting add in for RMS. Our sales report includes is a chart of sales by department.

We have averages and charts in our reports.

You can try the add in for free for 14 days on your own data.

Actually, you can create a calculated column in an active report using the Formula value in the column definition. This probably won't allow you to get what you are asking for though

To run a Stored Proc, use the PreQuery values in the Report header section - see the Item Movement History report for an (overblown) example of using a pre-query.

There are several examples of calculated columns using Formulas in the default reprots - I think there is one in Detailed Sales, but check around and you should find one...

I don't believe that you can grab the filter options to use in the way that you're asking. I got around this in one report by using a User Defined Function rather than a Stored Proc.
