Pete,
Yes, they do work. We use them at our store. Here are the instructions. I hope they are helpful.

Cherry Keyboard Programming Instructions for RMS Keyboard Models 7000/8000
Important Note: When programming any of the following sequences, do not use the Numeric Keypad unless specified. Any numbers that you program must be from the alphanumeric (QWERTY) side of the keyboard. After every line of code listed below, you should get a message. If not, immediately press the Enter in the Numeric Keypad and start that programming string again.
Step 1: Close all programs and open an editor such as Notepad or go to a DOS Prompt
Step 2: Enter program mode by holding down the following six key combination until you hear two beeps and ***MENU ENTRY*** is displayed in your editor. Ctrl (left) ,Shift (left), Alt(left), Ctrl (right), Shift (right), Alt (right)
Step 3: Program the Magnetic Stripe Reader
Press: J then 1 then N Press: J then 2 then Y Press: V then 6 then ; then ENTER (on NumPad) Press: W then 6 then ENTER (on alpha) then ENTER (on NumPad)
Step 4: Exit Program Mode Press: Spacebar (you should see ***MENU EXIT***)

My bad, I didn't read your post close enough. I'm not familiar enough with MSPOS to know if they will work with it.
