Client/Server or Stand alone PC

I have been running RMS on client and server for two years. Both PCs are Pentium 2 running Win 2000 Professional, 128MB RAM. Database is SQL DTE. I am think of upgrading the PCs but wondering if it is really necessary to have client and server PCs separate for a single station setup? The new PC will be Pentium 4 with XP Pro, 256MB RAM.

Speaking from experience, if you upped the ram in those machines, they would become a lot more usable. I would also suggest more than 256 for a modern one, too.

Ditto on the 512MB minimum RAM for new PCs. 1GB min for Servers.
