Committeed items

I have found items committed in the ILC that have no reason to be. They are not on a work order or layaway. How does that happen, and how can i identify how many there are in my system?

Committed can be caused either by: Work Order, Layaway or BackOrder. Since you have checked the 1st two checked the backorder.

One thing that comes to mind...if you create a new item by copying an existing item, RMS will copy the existing/old item's inventory status over to the new one. So if the existing item had inventory committed, it'll look like the new item does too. I just go into the inventory screen and manually update the information.

I know I do...we've had such a supremely busy last year that I've allowed myself to procrastinate the upgrade from a fear that I'll screw something up.

My reseller is completely UNknowledgable and I know they won't be able to help me if something goes wrong. They couldn't get the inital installation to start-up consistently (we just have a register computer and back-office computer) and I had to problem solve it by reading the documentation and fix it. When I was on vacation this year, the network went down and my staff called to have them come out and fix it and they couldn't get it fully up and working, so they limped along until I came back from vacation and fixed the firewall settings. That was the only problem and they didn't even think to check the settings! We've had other problems as well and they've never been able to offer a single solution. If you know of anyone good in the San Diego region...I'm happy to pay for support.

So...maybe I can do the big upgrade later this m> Juli,
