comparitive time period reporting

I am interested in the best value way to get comparative reporting which for example would compare April 2006 with April 2007 sales for all my stores in an easy to read way, perhaps by department/catagory/suuppier.

I've asked my reseller about this, but they have quoted me ?4000+ to develop this sort of reporting pack.

Any advise?

Hi Cod,

Thanks for the suggestions - i currently do two reports and put the data into excel where i can play with it, but if for example one month i dont have sales in one catagory, then the order of the catagories is all wrong, and takes time to sort!

If i were to create two columns for sales, could i date range each >> I am interested in the best value way to get comparative reporting which

You can create two columns for sales through 2 alias on [TransactionEntry] .. now I'm in office and I can't create the query and report for you .. but this evening or tomorrow morning I can ..

can wait tomorrow?

thanks cod

Hi Phillip,

Retail Realm has an add-on suite End Of Day and OLAP [ it does require that you have full sql ] which will give you lots of reporting capabilities. Contact me for more info.
