Deleting Sales Representative

You need to be careful when deleting a Sales Rep. We have found that when we delete a Sales Rep, all selling info relating to that person is lost. So, if you have an associate that has left the company, you delete the Sales Rep, then they have a question about their last pay, or back sales, etc., all data is gone.
We wait 3 months before deleting a Sales Rep, not that this will save us in the end, but I think we see less questions from former employees after 3 months time has passed.
I also started adding a distinctive prefix to 'terminated' employees numbers. For example, we use three digit numbers from 100 - 500, so I add a
9 in front of the x-employees number. This makes it easy to distinguish active/inactive employess and you can filter them out of reports.Hopefully MS will add the ability to make cashiers and reps 'inactive'.

Marc,
That is a great idea. A safeish way to maintain the past employees while being able to use well in a filtered report.
Now, inactive, yes. I think that is key. I get tired of watching the money go out the window in commissions to returns against NoRep and past employees. I see the need for both fields, but it is always frustrating every time you realize just how much is lost.
