"forcefully rejected"

Any ideas how to fix this before I have to pay 245 to Microsoft. Checked all the stores and all sucessfully ping to the server. Port is open. Firewalls are set correctly. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the HQ Clients - no luck. BTW connection error started after HQ's internet connection was down for 2 hours last week. No changes to password, database names, etc. My hair is falling out over this! Restart HQ Server (the application, not the system). Make sure it is running and it's status is "Listening"

Yeah, HQ Server is probably not releasing the port to accept another connection. Restarting might solve it.

On the other hand, I had a similar problem once, and despite my insistance that all ports, IPs and firewalls were "right," it turned out I just overlooked something in my configuration. Lost a lot of hair that night, too.

If you have a lot of stores, they will all want to be calling in the upload data when HQ comes back online, so this could also be the problem. If you can shut down half of the stores' HQ client, this might do the trick, but that is a lot of effort.

I wouldn't call Microsoft on this. It really seems to be more of a networking problem. But before you do, reinstall HQ (backup data first). It could be a damaged file on the HQ server (more likely than the clients).
