I'm not familiar with your particular scanner, but with my scanner I have two options:
Brute force: export a text file, manipulate with Excel and/or Word, then import the data. Physical inventory will import count sheets. QSCimport will import customers and items. There are other methods, but those are the most common.
Finesse: buy a 3rd party application. I have 2B-Inventory and it syncs with my Store Ops database and allows me to export directly into physical inventory, create & receive POs and much more. There are plenty of similar products out there from companies like New West and Retail Realm (among others).
Best of luck, Tom
Michael,
Use the PT2000's "PTXFer" Program (I think it's called that) from the PSC web site. It stinks that they don't include it with their device. That's what I use.
Good luck, Matt
Michael,
The process is a little clunky, but that's the way I was able to get it to work.
Good luck, Matt
Once you have the data transferred to your PC, there are several ways to import.
There's the free QSCimport utility. It's unsupported, but it seems to work pretty well. Not the most flexible tool, but good for customers and acceptable for items.
There are probably dozens of SQL import utilities out there. I use EMS SQL Data Import. I got the import/export bundle for like $60 or so. It's got a different set of strengths and weaknesses than QSCimport.
There's also the option of using MS Excel to create a list of query statements that you can copy & paste into Administrator. If you need more detail, search this group for the topic 'Alias Creation on a Grand Scale'. The last post in that thread details how to use Excel to create queries.
