HQ Client and invalid store id\connection issue

Have client with four stores. Running RMS V 2.0. New store is number 4. Have been able to establish connection to HQ but get this message on the log: HQ message contains an invalid store\id connection passowrd. Although the message is quite clear. Where exactly should we be making the adjustments? Thank you veruy much.

2 places: In HQ Manager, Admin/Stores Open properties for Store 4 ( I believe you need to be in Maintenence Mode to do this) Go to connection Schedule Tab - near the bottom of the tab you can enter a password - this is unique to each store.

In HQ Client, File/Configuration, HQ Server Tab - enter the same password you used at HQ Manager...

This procedure seems to be specifically if we want to assign a password to scure the communication with the HQ server. Not sure it applies to what were are looking for however. In either case we have matched the database user name and password from the SO to the HQ. We no longer get the message invalid Store ID / Connection Password but rather this: Error -2147467259: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionRead [Wr also get Error -2147467259: Connection failure.

Any ideas > 2 places:

The answer I gave before was the solution to the Invalid store number or password error.

You don't have to have the same UserID/Password at the store as at HQ. I suspect that in changing it you have mis-configured something - probably HQ Client, but I can't tell from the truncated error message in your post.

Check HQ Client, File/Configuration, Database Tab. Try the test connection button and verify that you are connecting. Also, remember that the HQ Client should be connecting to a Store DB not an HQ DB.
