Limited User Account and RMS 1.3R

Are there any special configurations or registry settings in order to have a "limited user" account in Windows XP Pro access RMS 1.3R? When I log on to the workstation/register as an Administrator everything works fine, but when I log in under a "limited user" account and click on RMS Manager nothing happens for about 15 seconds and then a box displays with the time out error. When I installed RMS on the Workstation I selected the "make available to all users of this ocmputer" option (ofcourse).

Do I need to change any of the file/folder and/or registery access permissions?

If you are getting a Timeout message, it's because RMS is failing to connect to the Database

Sounds like your SQL Server/MSDE install may have been done for Windows Authentication only. You need to make sure to select Mixed Mode during the install.

Where is the database running? Probably local to the register...

What database Version/Edition are you using? Probably either MSDE or SQL 2005 Express...

Thanks for your reply.

When I upgraded RMS to version 1.3R I had to uninstall RMS 1.2 first, for whatever reason it didn't keep the SQL port open and my register/client workstation couldn't connect to the SQL server. The strange thing was that I could log in using the Administrator account. I still haven't figured out why this did work. Anyway after opeing the SQL port in the firwall settings everything worked fine.

Thank you.
