Populating Reorder Number Field

We would like to populate the Reorder Number field with the Matrix Lookup Code. We use our Matrix Lookup Code for our vendor's item number. Our vendors need to see this number in the Purchase Order, but the standard Purchase Order doesn't show the Matrix Lookup Code but does show the Reorder Number (or Order Number). Since we have a very large number of items in our database, I'd like run a querry to do this rather than do it manually one item at a time. Or, is there a way to have the parent Matrix Lookup Code show up as a column in the Purchase Order? We just upgraded from Quicksell

2000 and are working with a local reseller, he just wasn't sure how to do what we are looking for. He's looking into it, but wanted to see if someone else had tried this.

Kris,

Use must have access to CustomerSource to view this;

formatting link
Backup first and use the first script in the KB. One downside is that it will do this to _all_ items and _all_ suppliers, not just the matrix items.

If you need more customization to this, post back.

Jeff, Thank you for the quick reply. This querry uses the Lookup Code to populate the Reorder Number, however, I want to use the Matrix Lookup Code to populate it. When we imported from Quicksell, all our manufacturer item codes were imported to the Matrix Lookup Code field. I would hope a simple change is the querry coding would allow this, I would just need to know the name for the Matrix Look Code.

Kris,

First, I've never used QS2K, so I may be a little slow here.

Is the number you are looking for, the base ILC for the Matrix? SO Manager | Database | Items | properties of an item in the Matrix | the number in the ILC column of the Member of: box on the right?

Or is it something else?

Jeff,

You are correct, that is exactly what I want to put in the Reorder Number field. Right now, my 8,000+ items have no reorder number. When I generate a purchase order, the number that vendor is looking for (their part number) does not show up. If I can get that in the reorder number field, I'll be on my way.
