- It was much easier to make changes to Matrix Items in Quicksell. I ended up having to pay Microsoft a bunch of money to customize some Querries that I have to run every few days to update Matrix components based on changes i make to the Matrix Parent item. What a pain. We also bought DRS add ins to help with this stuff. I would love to see a vastly improved and simplified process for making changes to Matrix Items.
- I can no longer run a simple report that gives me total sales for Matrix Parent items. For example - I can't run a shoe sales ranking report that shows the top styles of shoes in my store. The reports that are available can rank sales, but it ranks sales of each individual size rather than a lump sum of all the sizes for that style. It's not import to know that size 8 Asics Kayano is my number one shoe. What is important is the ranking of that shoe as a whole size run. All of the reports break down the Matrix Items by their individual components. I have set up each of the individual sizes of each Matrix Item to have the exact same Reorder Number in hopes that could lump the sales quantity for the Reorder Number to get total sales for a style of shoe. Then we could run the report I'm looking for. As it stands now I have no easy way to determine what my best sellers are.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Other retailers must have the same issue if they are selling matrix items. Since we upgraded back in April, my ability to analyze sales performance has been greatly degraded and as a result, we've had numerous items that we kept reordering that we should have gotten out of and we've had several items that we should have ordered more of but didn't realize it was doing so well because we couldn't see it's ranking.
