POS 2009 Multi-Store

No, the POS product was originally a completely separate codebase from RMS. Although 2009 has been a rewrite with a lot of RMS functionality on the back end, the interface is far more intuitive and friendly.

I can't believe that RMS 2.0 is seen as anything but a stopgap solution. It was barely usable by my staff, whereas POS 2.0 and now POS 2009 are easily understood.

I have a couple of add-ons for customer loyalty and reverse phone# lookup, but other than that it does everything I need it to, including handling gift cards, on it's own ,which is a huge money saver. The POS portion of RMS is very user friendly if you set it up properly, and using a touch screen monitor makes it even easier. That along with some custom buttons and I can't think how it could be any easier for the cashier. I know the UI of POS2009 looks better, but that's just eye candy. It's the features that I care about.
