POSLanguage.DAT, MGRLanguage.DAT

With the installation of SP3 for RMS, the renaming of certain lines in the language DAT files no longer change the words in POS or Manager, I took the new lines and changed them but it does not affect the software whatsoever.

Have you tried any of this? For example, changing the word layaway to Service Order like we have done with every other hot fix has worked but not on the newest service pack.

Ivan,

We are not only a customer but also a partner. I have been editing the language.dat files long before SP2 even came out and after applying evey hot fix. I am telling you it just does not work with SP3, I changed all instances of the word "layaway" to "Service Order" as we always do but it has not effect in POS.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Rob F.

that are clearly American, and then apply lets say a Hotfix.

to re-edit new files that are applied by the hotfix, probably make a back up of the old ones and put them back in before you update then make your changes again.

Hi Rob

I've also been editing the dat files since day one.

I've put a post on the other forum to get this issue resolved ASAP. Its one of those things you don't think you need until you really do.

----- This is really bad news. I've just tried it myself and your right. I've even put my old dat file in place of the new version, and it still doesn't see the changes.

What's odd is that if you do away with the dat file you get the installer pop up, which suggests it is still being used.

If anyone can work this out I would also be very greatful.

Where does RMS now look for its relevant feild names???

Cheers

Joe
