Receipt Modifying Instructions?

Where can I find a full explanation of how to modify my fullpage.xml file? I want to add 3 fields from my customer file. The manual does not show how to add customer fields.

Not all fields are available. Which do you want to add?

Try searching the google archive of this group for a post that contained all of the receipt variables.

On the customer screen on the Additional tab, the first 3 fields on the left we have labeled Account Number, Route Number, and Sequence Number. These are the 3 fields we would like to add to our full page receipt.

We also want to add the Supplier Account Number onto our PO template.

I saw the posting that had all the receipt variables. It doesn't say how to add them and any other instructions about where to add them and what to be sure not to do.

The fields you are looking for are Customer.CustomTextX and/or Customer.CustomCaptionTextX.

Open the receipt template in notepad. Use Save As... to create a working copy without destorying the original. If you have any programming experience at all you should be able to feel your way around the code. Get yourself a copy of a printed receipt and study it while comparing it to the xml.

There are lots of lines on that template, try adding a field between them and save the file. Go into SO Manager, select your newly edited template and give it a preview. There is not really any easier method that I am aware of.

If you can get your hands on the RMS Customization Guide, that might help--but only if you have a fair idea of what you're doing in the first place.

I have used the trial & error method with great success.

Good luck, Tom
