Requiring price @ register / Gross Profits

We are going to soon be implementing Microsoft RMS. Most of our items are barcoded and scanned at the register. However, because of the nature of our business, a lot of items are simply not barcoded. These we treat like an old-fashioned POS....Hit a department key and move on.

In the past, we have been able to assign these key-pressed items a default gross profit. In other words, in our fabric department we set gross profit to 45%. When we run reports, they reflect this number.

I have yet to figure out how to simulate this in RMS. I can create the custom buttons and/or macros and/or SKUs, but am unable to set a gross profit so that if a cashier sells an item for $3.00, it has the same GP % as an item at $5.00. Any ideas?

RMS doesn't support this.

I *think* you could do this by using Sql to update the SoldCost of Transaction entries for these items.

I'm not going to say anymore than that, because I haven't tried it and it has a really good chance of blowing up in your face.

Talk to your reseller for more details...
