Return

When returning an item, can you return the item by selecting the matrix rather than the individual item and changing the quantity to -1?

Hi KIm, Normally this won't work as it works in sale where for each matrix type you can put the qunatites. HOWEVER when you select the matrix item it bring the matrix window but allow only one item at a time to be returned and make the

-1 qty automatically in return document type. It work but one by one.

If you awere using the the Retail Realm RR Touch add-on you could return by opening the matrix and selecting how many of each you are returning

Hello, I am considering the customer who purchased two different items, and then come back to return an item with (with the original receipt) the customer need a new receipt with the returned item and the other item....... but how can I perform that on the POS ...when I recall the transaction it decrease the item purchased from the inventory (make a duplicate sale for item)....... any ideas......

And what about to perform that at another store, how can I link the original transaction and the return transaction......

Many Thanks.....

Hi H...

It appears you are describing an exchange, where the customer returns one or more items and at the same time takes one or more items in exchange. If this is the case, do not recall the transaction.

You can handle both on one sales transaction: first list the items being returned and change their quantities to a negative; then list the items the customer is taking with them and leave the quantities as positives (a negative quantity will add the quantity back to your stock); the POS screen does all the work, in terms of showing you whether the customer owes you money or you owe the customer a refund; when you go to F12 tender, finish the transaction as you normally would (charge the difference or refund the difference);
