The Beta version is due in Q1 2008 with the release set later in the year but I think it is behind schedule. The HQ version will probably not be until 2009

By the way it w> Does anyone know when 3.0 will be available ?

What richer features do you want?

There are many many different products out there, all with their own benefits and drawbacks but in my opinion, for all its failings, RMS is the best. It is the most all-encompassing and the easiest to change. There are loads of add-ons, some rubbish granted but some are fantastic.

With the new version Microsoft are really pushing the boat out as I think they have finally realised how much money there is to be made in a global retail product. If it was me opening a new store now I would definetly take RMS even if I have to wait a year for the newer version, it will do nearly everything I want now and I could spend the time tweaking and getting used to it.

Gaz,

Where are you getting your dates for the delayed release of HQ? I can't see any reason why the HQ module would be on a later release schedule than the StoreOps module, especially since Microsoft has repeatedly stated that the Store Ops and HQ versions need to be the same. Since 3.0 is such a major change, and the underluying guts have been rewritten, I would think you would certainly have to be on HQ 3.0 in order to sync with a StoreOps 3.0 system.

If you or your partner know something the rest of us don't, please share the information. We're all chomping at the bit for 3.0, and any delays will probalby affect a number of strategic planning budgets.

Has anyone seen any screen shots? Will it look like the old RMS or the newer updated look of the current POS?
