I know the tender types can check for card types (Validation Mask), but is it possible to setup a VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER tender and AMEX tender...then have it verified so that you cannot run AMEX in the VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER tender? So, could I put the three different masks in with a comma or is there a way to make the V/M/D refuse the AMEX?
Thanks in advance.

Well, you could validate for a length or 16 characters with the mask "################" (Amex is 15 characters). Apparently there are some
13 char Visa cards however - I've never seen one, but it's been posted here before that they exist.
We recommend using a separate tender for each card type.

Thanks Glenn. After posting, I remembered about AMEX's 15 digit length and that has solved our bookkeeping problem so we can break out AMEX. Our reports (VisaNet EDC Detail) use to break down by credit card type, until we masked the numbers. No longer, but we can figure it out by the 15 digit flag. It still would be nice if 2.0 could do that even with the numbers masked and not having to do seperate Tenders. We are Deli location and speed is everything, having to choose the sepecific credit card tender takes more time.
The only other time consuming issue I cannot seem to solve is that we must say "YES/NO" to a reciept after every purchase. I've tried turning it to never print a reciept but still print to Journal, but then the printer does not load. We have an EPSON TMT88III.
To anyone that could solve that problem I would send a case of our own Chardonnay. Check out our award winning wines
