We use serial numbers on a few items. We have a new item that the serial number is 2 characters longer than the field in RMS. Is there a way to increase the field length?

Your other option is to use the RR Store Utility. In Store Utility we allow yo to have items with 250 character A/N length. We did this to support sell of some items like Apple Products where the SN is very long. Additionally we allow different type of item to be serialised. So yo ucould have Matrix Item that are serialised (example Toastersin in different colours) or have Non Inventory Items that are serialised (example: selling Product Warrenty). I do not like altering Microsoft Tables as this can cause issues with upgrades, HQ communications, reports and over all support. We add our own tables that do not conflict with MS. Additionally if you are in the US or Middle East and Africa where we are a distributor we give away our Store and HQ Utility for FREE with the renewal of Microsoft Enhancements every year.
