Transfer Order Problem

We hav a tarnsfer order that was issued by stiore 1 to go to store 2. Store

2 never received it. In checking the transfer records in HQ it shows that store 1 issued and committed the order and we see a yellow flag. But the received the receive and match tab are both grayed out. Did we do something wrong? And how do we fix this? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi John,

1) is the configuration in HQ "checked" regarding automatically create interstore transfer order? 2) even if (1) is marked, sometimes the interstore transfer is not created automatically...i have read a number of posts like this here from customers/partners encountering this. The problem is it's hard to replicate that's why Microsoft support can't address it. In your case, does this happen everytime??? Anyway, wat you can do is do the following for both stores: a) connect to the database thru store admin. b) create a query (delete hqmessage) c) re-index both store database

hope this helps.

Hi Franco

  1. Yes. HQ configuration is checked
  2. No it does not happen all the time. More like 1 in every 50 to 75 transactions

I'm not sure what you mean by "create a query (delete hqmessage)" or what this would do. Could you elaborate on this?

Also is there any danger in reindexing files? Should a backup be done immediately prior to reindexing? or this a pretty safe procedure?

Finally is it possible for the receiving store to manually create a receiving transfer order record and then issue and commit?

Thanks for your reply and input

John,

Are you completely unfamiliar with using queries? The query Franco suggested will simply clear the hqmessage table. I am uncertain why he recommended that step - hopefully he will elaborate.

Reindexing is a pretty safe procedure, but backing up first is probably not a bad idea. The likelihood of problems arising from reindexing is very low.

There is no reason why the receiving store can't manually create the transfer order.

John,

Are you manually creating the Transfer Order Number? If you are there was a problem with creating a Transfer Number greater than

14 character, because HQ automatically add the Store ID and a hyphen to the Transfer Order Number at the Receiving store and RMS only allows 20 characters in total. The resulting issue is that the Transfer Order doesn't show up at the Receiving store.

To add, I was just searching through the past posts and this has been discussed many times already. A good tool for searching problems is to use Google Groups, they keep a very extensive history of the past posts.

And oh yah, GO OILERS!!!!
