UPS Shipping integration

We are trying to set up shipping integration with our UPS account, and finding the online help as close to worthless as it is possible to be...

Can someone elaborate on how the shipping integration actually works in practice (or just point me at any documentation) ?

eg

RMS allows me to specify the web address for a shipping page URL, but where does that come from ?

Do we have to manually specify each service that we wish to use or is RMS able to calculate pricing via a web interaction with the UPS site ?

When RMS "is able to fill in most items on the shipping form", how does this work ? In testing it, it just seems to browse to the UPS login form and then goes to a standard form that RMS cannot complete values for in any way.

Am I just missing something fundamental ?

Thanks.

John.

You were supposed to just click on the auto-fill button, and poof it should be ready to go, but since they changed the UPS web site, I have had NO luck shipping with RMS using the UPS website. They added a pop-up window that had posed an issue. I hope someone can provide some insight on this topic as well.

We just continued to use UPSWorldShip with RMS on our local system. The bad part with that is depending on volume, the weekly fees can add up as you must be a daily pick-up customer to use WorldShip.

Get SHIPRUSH and your problems will disappear!

Click, label, ship. We recall our Work Order (that's how we do it after the order is entered--save as Work Order) Click the UPS Ship button select the class, weight etc. Click SHIP and a label comes out.

Then we close the Work order. Done.

You can also use fedex Ground (cheaper than UPS) and USPS (not so cheap any more!)
