VPN to recognize dongle

Hi,

Documentation 835953 says that Store Operations and QuickSell 2000 are not compatible with WAN, VPN, Windows Terminal Services, or Citrix environments. We were able to do some workaround for Windows Terminal Services for the system to recognize the dongle. However, we're wondering if anybody has a workaround for VPN connectivity to recognize the dongle.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Rizza,

Setup RMS as you normally would pointing the pos machine to the server as if it were a LAN. Setup up your VPN and connect, once connected open POS it will recognize the dongle. If you leave the POS app open the VPN connection should remain stable. BIG NOTE. I assume you are trying to connect two different physical locations, this is completely against the MS licensing agreement and I do not endourse the above configuration. This is clearly a case were you would need a HQ or 2 or more single user licenses.

You can use RMS through VPN.. but you can't work with 1 dongle for two different stores..

I have a similar situation. I do not want to violate the licensing agreement, but am wondering what VPN configuration to set in order to avoid conflicting the multiple dongle'd machines in the same VPN. Do I need to configure different subnets for different stores in the VPN?
