Has anyone used an external scale for weighted items? If so what is the best hardware?

Fairbanks ULTEGRA Bench Scale uo to 150lbs. Serial version. Works with ShipRush, UPS ShipManager and Fedex Software.
USB version not supported by all software so beware.
You can get a UPS discount if you buy it direct. $249
