Which firewall ports to open for remote access?

Yes, thanks...after thinking about it, it does make better sense that PC Anywhere would solve both the security and bandwidth/response time issues while still getting the same functionality ~ in fact, besides store ops manager, shouldn't it even work to access the POS itself?

Opening port 1433 is not generally a good security practice. I'd look into a VPN solution. Also, see my earlier post regarding WAN support - or the lack thereof :) You might consider a remote control package like PC Anywhere if you have problems with a direct connection.

Also you can use VNC free and works great. Also remote desktop is also a good tool for getting in and working or fixing things.

I think there may be an issue with recognizing the dongle when accessing via remote control software, but not sure. Licensing on that is a little questionable anyway, but yes theoretically you should be able to access POS this way.
