Can Sample Files in Downloaded Trial Be Reset to a Default State?

Hi,

Today, while poking around the Sample File for the product company, it seems I messed something up in payroll (chose Manual payroll) and now both the Sample service company and the Sample product company are bankrupt (operating in the red in the check register). !!! :o) Is there a way to

*reset* the Sample company to its default settings? (Next time, I'll make a copy of the Sample files first and mess with *those*)

This may not matter at all after you read further:

Finally received my QBs upgrade from Amazon.com (going from QBPro 99 to QBPro 2005). But haven't opened the box yet...I'm looking for some tips for the most pain-free installation of this upgrade.

Questions: What is going to happen when I install the upgrade? Is it going to overwrite the trial version I have installed (thus, fixing the messed-up Sample files), or am I supposed to uninstall the trial version first?) The trial resides in C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2005.

Which reminds me, I have another folder in C:\Program Files\Intuit, which I created at the time the trial was installed, labeled QBPro2005 (I thought Installation was asking me where to place the program but it was really asking me where to place the setup files/folders). It contains setup.exe and folders labeled Support, Trial, QBooks, Thirdparty. Can I safely delete all this?

Thank you for any helpful advice/direction you can provide!

You probably can install the new one over it but to make things clean, I would uninstall the trial version first.

Once you are done with the Trial version you can safely delete this folder and its contents.

Laura,

Thank you so much for your quick response! You have been great to take the time to walk me through this upgrade process. I really appreciate your guidance. Have a great evening...
