Customizing QB GUI

What is the best language to write a new GUI for taking and managing customer orders that will interact with QB 2007? Will it be Java because it has choice of many GUI builders to put together a new GUI in a hurry? Will it be VB because QB seems to favor it and programming through QBFC might be easier? Ad so on and so forth. Or is it possible to modify the QB HUI itself?

What is the best language? Same question as: Is it better to keep my ledger in blue ink or black ink? Answer to language question, the one the person doing the design and coding is most familiar with given the options available to the necessary SDK.

Suggestions:

1) Buy an off the shelf package that does what you need.

2) Hire someone who has done QB customization before to write it for you.

3) Ask an intelligent question given the audience you are speaking to. Mostly CPA's here, with perhaps a single handful of developers.

4) Provide enough details to allow an answer to your true problem.

Who are you? (CPA/IT Consultant/general business consultant/potential developer/end user/??)

What is the problem you are trying to solve? McDonald's like POS interface? We have some great manual forms and ...? We've got a Filemaker system and ...?

As to you last question about modifying QB, QB is not open source. Any modification would break support for it, and due to QB's buggy nature support will be required. Not a good idea.
