Back in the '60s Peter Townsend, in a book entitled "Up the Organization," wrote: "In a dispute with a taxing authority, your records will convict you irrespective of your guilt."
Ask yourself: "Can my current situation get any better by examining old records?"
Then ask: "Can it get worse?"
Anyway, I file my records in the trash. Under several layers of used kitty litter.
