Importing data

I have a customer contact list that I use in Quickbooks and have exported it to excel for another purpose. I'm wondering, provided I leave it in the format it was exported in, can I fill in all the blank feilds and then give it back to Quickbooks, and have it update all that info into the customer fields that it originally pulled it from. So, most of it would be data that quickbooks already has (overwrite or ignore; really doesn't matter) and all the new stuff goes into the appropriate feild for each customer.

This would sure make it a lot easier to update customer information.

It's a fine way to do it. QuickBooks will merge the customers, provided you don't change the name. However, I would backup my QuickBooks file before doing any major import, just in case.
