In QB 2007, is there a way to set up an item as a descriptive line so that the amount column won't print anything?
I don't think so. Just type what you want in the description column and space downwards before entering line items. I do this alot on Estimates as a way to use headings.
Set up an item with the description that you want and if it shows 0.00 in the amount column, you can clear it out before printing. Or you can do like Tara says.
I would say, you should not use an item, just put in the description in the description box if you do not want any amount to show up
