I can't find a way to setup a brokerage account and record stock transactions. Isn't this available in Quickbooks? I am a full time trading business and really need this ability.

I don't believe that Quickbooks supports this but Quicken does.
I know QB does not have this feature, never did. Quicken Premier 2008 is the version you require if you need to track trades and investments..

And depending on the OPs investment tracking needs are the Deluxe version might work. Both can download brokerage accounts without any problems.
I would start here:
If the only investment is a checking account then yes the deluxe version will do. However if any securities need to be tracked then steping up the software food chain. is required.
Thanks Laura and Allan,
I was afraid of that. I've been using Quicken for this when I was trading part time and it worked quite well. Now that I'm doing this professionally, I was hoping there'd be a better way.
Thanks for the quick feedback.
Take care
I have both checking and Charles schaub brokerage accounts in my Quicken basic version. Works fine.
So what is your point? Do you think Quicken is the only software application that can be used by professional traders?
Yes, back when I was a little boy my version of basic also had thoses features. Now that I am all grown up and work with the latest version I need Premier to track investments for my clients.
Why not go to the Quicken web site and see for yourself.
Not at all Allan,
It's just one that I'm somewhat familiar with via my long time use of Quicken for my personal and rental bookkeeping.
Thanks for your input, Hal
