Printing reconciliation summary in pdf

After completing the reconciliation, I go to Reports|Banking|Previous Reconciliation and bring up the Summary report for printing and saving. This month, the first column of text which usually displays "Beginning Balance", "Cleared Transactions", etc., now is cut off and displays as "Begin...", Cl...". For some reason, the column width has narrowed. Also, it prints in portrait, where it use to print in landscape. However, even in portrait, it appears there is ample room for at least most of the column to print. I tried changing the printer setup to landscape to no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Preston

If you're asking why the column width changed - probably because the orientation changed.

If you're asking why the orientation changed - sometimes the orientation of one report affects the orientation of a subsequent report. I don't know why, haven't identified a consistent pattern, but I consider it a minor issue and just change it to what I want.

If you're asking why the column width isn't automatically changed when changing the orientation - either column widths or font size (or both) MUST change when changing from landscape to portrait, but they need not automatically change when changing from portrait to landscape.

If you're asking HOW to change the column width and orientation - use the QB Print dialog, not your printer setup.

I'm not sure what was your real question, but those are some ideas.

According to Intuit Tech Support, there is a conflict with (at least Canadian) QuickBooks 2006, if , AFTER QB is installed, Adobe Acrobat or, apparently, any other pdf-creation software, is installed.

The symptoms are a pdf "view" of the bank reconciliation report in QB that is "truncated" on the right side of the page, so the page looks like the entire right half of the report has been erased.

"Solution" is to uninstall / reinstall QB.

In my case, I have other software programs with "internal" pdf drivers, just like the "internal" pdf driver within QB that generates this bank rec report, that caused the problem.
