ZZ

We've been using RMS (and Quicksell) for 7 years. We've never done a ZZ report. If I do one now, will it lock up the system? I'm assuming I'm looking at several hundred feet of receipt paper, probably running out of the roll and having it freeze. Has anyone tried running a ZZ after such a long time? Is there any way to get it cleared so I can start using the ZZ?

To my understanding it clears everything by categories and departments so theoretically it should be the same length as a standard z. But I could be very mistaken on that.

Elizabeth, It actually prints a little summary with seven lines of data for every single day since the last ZZ, so I'm looking at about 20,000 lines printing.

You could have also just toggled off printing at POS. Craig

True, but it would still print to the electronic journal, adding to database size unnecessarily.

Hi Guys

Please note this is untested - so not sure if it would work.

Z-out this would create report and close batch ZZ-out but say no to print - this would create a new batch number and produce report electronically in DB. Does this batch number also get closed. If it does would it be possible to just delete that batch number, therefore, freeing up all that space.
